Buying Anvils – It’s Easier Than You Think

In this video, I talk about what I look for when I’m buying anvils.

Did you know you can get a great anvil for less than $300?

Try to avoid Craigslist and eBay when it comes to buying anvils. You might get taken for a ride.

It’s a much better policy to shop at blacksmith suppliers that have been selling anvils for decades.

Their prices are better because they have to respond to supply and demand. They also have to compete with the other anvil retailers.

Here are my top choices for anvil retailers:

  • centaurforge.com – If you’ve taken my online course or been to a class at my shop, you’ve heard me talk about these guys. Amazing customer service and great shipping rates ($14 flat rate up to 150 pounds).
  • piehtoolco.com – Excellent family-owned business with good selection and customer service.
  • blacksmithsdepot.com – The North Carolina classic. Kayne & Sons has been offering a huge selection of blacksmithing equipment for a long, long time.

Note: If you’re looking for old anvils with some history, I recommend going old school with it. Check out auctions, flea markets, and swap meets especially in Amish Country.

Happy Anvil Hunting!
